The PADI Sidemount Diver Specialty introduces a balanced, flexible and streamlined way of diving with tanks mounted at your sides.
Develop improved buoyancy, reduced drag and increased gas redundancy while extending your skills towards longer dives and more advanced diving techniques.
Course Details
- Minimum age: 15 years
- Prerequisite: Open Water Diver
- Duration: 3 days
- Day 1: pool training at London School of Diving
- Days 2 and 3: open-water training at Vobster Quay or Surrey Hills Dive Lake
- Complete the eLearning before the course
- Sidemount equipment setup and configuration
- Gas management and redundancy
- Streamlining, buoyancy refinement and problem-solving techniques
- Safe air-sharing procedures
- PADI Sidemount Rec Diver certification upon completion
- Price: £400
Important Information
- Full sidemount equipment is required and can be provided if needed
- Lake entrance: £15 cash per day
- Air fills: £7 cash each, with 2 required
- Bring food and drinks or money to purchase them
- LSD does not provide transport to the open-water sites
- Car sharing will be sought where possible but cannot be guaranteed; you may need to make your own way to the site
