Course Booking Terms

These terms apply to diving courses, experience programmes, club activities, pool sessions, workshops and professional-level training supplied by London School of Diving Limited (“LSD”, “we”, “us” or “our”). Retail goods are governed by the separate Website and Store Terms, Returns and Refunds Policy, and Shipping and Delivery Policy.
1. Booking and participant information
A booking is not complete until the required payment or deposit and participant information have been received and the booking has been confirmed.
Participants must provide complete and accurate information and complete all required PADI or other training documentation honestly. A person booking for someone else must be authorised to provide their information and must ensure that the participant receives these terms and required course information.
2. Medical declarations and fitness to dive
Known medical conditions and all answers required by the applicable medical declaration must be disclosed before water-based training. Where the declaration or course standards require medical approval, the participant must obtain the required signed medical clearance before taking part.
If required clearance is unavailable on the day, the participant cannot take part in the affected session. Rescheduling charges may apply according to the confirmed fee schedule and notice rules.
Medical information is handled under our Privacy Policy and is used only where lawfully necessary for safety, training administration and related obligations.

3. Course prices, deposits and balances
Discover Scuba, Discover Snorkelling and Bubblemaker experience programmes currently require full payment when booking.
Other PADI courses may require either a deposit or full payment in advance, as shown at booking. PADI Pro courses, including Divemaster and IDC programmes, may also require a separately charged crew pack.
All outstanding course balances must be paid no later than 48 hours before the course starts.
We will not charge an outstanding balance automatically to stored card details unless the customer has given valid authority and the payment provider supports that process.
4. Validity periods
The following validity periods apply:
- general course deposits and payments: valid for 12 months from purchase;
- Discover Scuba Diving sessions: valid for 3 months from purchase;
- Scuba Reviews: valid for 6 months from purchase.
5. Course credits and refunds
Our course-payment model is that eligible course payments normally remain as credit for the participant, or may be transferred to another named person for recreational scuba courses, rather than being paid as a cash refund. A missed-session deposit or fee may be excluded where the required notice was not given.
This credit model is subject to statutory rights and does not apply where the law requires a refund. It also does not remove any remedy where LSD cannot supply the contracted service.
6. Notice periods, rescheduling and no-shows
A “no-show” means failing to attend a scheduled session without giving notice before the session starts. Under the current model, the payment for a no-show session is not refunded or credited.
Where sufficient notice is given, LSD will endeavour to move the participant to a suitable alternative date without a rescheduling fee. Where notice is late, a rescheduling or administration fee may apply.
The current WordPress source defines the following notice periods and rescheduling fees:

A request made after the session start time is treated as a no-show.
7. Illness
The current model allows LSD to consider reducing a rescheduling fee where a participant gives notice more than 48 hours before the session and supplies appropriate evidence within seven days.
8. Course performance and additional training
Certification depends on completing the required knowledge, confined-water, open-water and performance requirements. If additional tuition or sessions are needed because requirements have not been met, additional charges may apply and will be explained before further training.
The charge for each incomplete Open Water Part A confined-water session is £20. Only sessions that were not completed are charged.
Where applicable, a referral document may be issued and is currently described as valid for 12 months from the last completed course portion. This must be aligned with current PADI standards.
9. Changes or cancellation by LSD
If LSD cannot deliver a course on the agreed dates, we will give as much notice as reasonably possible and offer an appropriate alternative date. A minimum of two students may be required unless the booking is private.
If we cannot offer a suitable alternative or cannot provide the contracted service, you may choose a refund for the affected service instead of rescheduling.
10. Equipment
For recreational courses, LSD currently supplies required diving equipment except:
- wetsuit boots during summer/wetsuit use; and
- wetsuit gloves during winter/drysuit use.
For Divemaster and IDC programmes, participants are strongly encouraged to own suitable equipment. LSD may supply equipment subject to availability, but recreational-course participants receive priority. LSD does not currently cover third-party hire costs caused by fitting issues or insufficient stock for Pro-course participants.
During colder periods, LSD will try to provide drysuits subject to fit and availability. Where a drysuit is mandatory for the booked course and LSD cannot provide one, the current terms say LSD will cover hire at the open-water location. For courses where a drysuit is not mandatory, a wetsuit may be used.
11. Transport
LSD does not provide transport to open-water dive sites. We may try to facilitate a car share, but participants remain responsible for reaching the site unless a booking expressly says otherwise.
12. Course materials and crew packs
Course materials may be collected from the centre without a delivery charge. Where postage or courier delivery is requested, the charge and arrangement will be agreed in advance. PADI Pro crew packs normally require advance payment.
13. Personal information and certification records
Participant information is handled under our Privacy Policy. Training and certification records are retained for the period reasonably required by applicable PADI requirements, safety obligations, law and our published retention practices.
Full payment-card details are processed by payment providers and are not intended to be stored or “shredded” by LSD; the previous card wording has therefore not been retained.
14. Conduct, safety and course standards
Participants must follow reasonable safety instructions, site rules and applicable course standards. Unsafe, abusive or disruptive conduct may result in suspension from an activity where reasonably necessary. Any financial consequence must be fair, proportionate and consistent with statutory rights.

16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain mandatory rights applicable in the part of the United Kingdom where they live.
