This course is both rigorous and rewarding, helping you build confidence and gain valuable skills for your future dives.
Paired with the Emergency First Response course, you will also learn CPR and First Aid techniques essential for every diver.
Course Details
- Minimum age: 15 years
- Prerequisite: Advanced Open Water Diver
- Duration: 2 full days
- Online eLearning: approximately 10 hours
- Day 1, 09:00–12:00: pool training at LSD in Chertsey
- Master self-rescue, panicked-diver response, underwater problem-solving and missing-diver procedures through Rescue Exercises 1–10
- Day 2, 08:30–15:00: open-water training at Surrey Hills Dive Lake or Vobster Quay in Somerset
- Complete two open-water dives with training exercises and Rescue Scenarios 1 and 2, including managing an unresponsive diver at the surface and underwater
- Price: £389. EFR / CPR and First Aid is booked separately from £150
Important Information
- Lake entrance: £20–£23
- Air fills: £8 cash per fill, with 1 required
- Bring food and drinks or money to purchase them
- LSD does not normally provide lake transport. We can help arrange car sharing where possible, but you may need to arrange your own transport
- Drysuit Orientation: £80 and required during low season, 1 December to 30 April
- The Drysuit Orientation is a 2.5-hour pool session on Day 1 covering drysuit skills and buoyancy control
- PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider add-on: £90, with no additional in-water training required
- Scuba Review: required if you have not dived in 12 or more months
Emergency First Response add-on
The EFR course is interlaced with your Rescue Diver course and includes online eLearning with the final exam, Primary Care CPR practice, Secondary Care First Aid practice and life-saving scenarios under professional guidance.
If you already hold valid CPR and First Aid training completed within the last 24 months, you can deselect the EFR add-on during checkout.
