Dive Medicals

Here at London School of Diving we are happy to announce we are the only dive centre in London with our very own on site HSE dive doctor. Dr. Alan Kohn has been working as a hyperbaric doctor for a number years, so he should be your first point of contact if you have any questions or concerns when it comes to diving with a medical condition.

Doctor Kohn works out of the centre twice a week providing fit to dive medicals for recreational scuba diving. For diving professionals wishing to work in the industry he can also offer HSE medicals. Dr Kohn can be contacted at kohn.doc@gmail.com or on 07711 709049 for appointments. Please note that we cannot arrange these appointments through our office and must be done directly with Dr. Kohn.

Fit to dive medicals – for recreational divers

If you are wishing to join onto a PADI course and have a ‘yes’ answer to one of medical questions found here then you will need to obtain this medical clearance before you can start any in water activity.

HSE dive medicals – for professionals

For those looking to work within the diving industry whether its as a Divemaster, Instructor or in the film industry, then you will need to obtain this more extensive medical examination which consists of.

• Full physical examination
• Lung function tests
• BMI
• Urine analysis
• Blood pressure
• Exercise test

Please note for HSE dive medicals, you will also need to obtain a confirmation of your medical history from a GP by filling in this form and brining it with you on the day.
