If it's been a while since your last dive, you're not alone. Work, life and the British weather all get in the way. Whether you've been out of the water for 12 months or 12 years, a Scuba Review is a relaxed way to get your skills and confidence back before your next trip.
What is a Scuba Review?
It's a pool-based refresher at our centre in Chertsey. You'll revisit many of the skills from your original Open Water course in our 32°C heated pool, with one of our team. All the diving equipment you need is provided, and you're welcome to bring your own kit if you'd like to test it.
When you'll need one
A refresher is a good idea any time you feel rusty, and some of our courses require one:
- Open Water Part B: if your Part A was more than six months ago.
- Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver: if you haven't dived for 12 months or more.
- Deep Diver: if you haven't dived within the last six months.
What you'll practise
Skills covered include kit assembly and disassembly, the pre-dive safety check, deep-water entry, proper weighting, five-point descents and ascents, regulator recovery, mask removal and replacement, hovering, quick-release weights, alternate-air-source ascents, snorkel and regulator exchange, air depletion, a free-flowing regulator, CESA, a no-mask swim, and removing and replacing equipment and weights underwater and at the surface.
Add PADI ReActivate
PADI ReActivate can be added to either Scuba Review as an optional extra. It includes a theory refresh, with about 2–3 hours of eLearning that lets you move quickly through what you remember and spend more time where your knowledge has lapsed, and a new certification e-card.
Prices
- Scuba Review: £135
- Private Scuba Review (one-to-one): £200
- PADI ReActivate add-on: £50
